Midi skirts have been around for a long time and they have always been a wardrobe staple for a lady with class. This length gained popularity as a response to the ultra high mini skirts in the 70s and proved to be more functional than the maxi skirt. That being said though, midi skirts are very tricky to wear. Most hit the widest part of the calves and tend to make women look larger and shorter than they really are. So how do you find the perfect midi skirt that is flattering on your figure? Here are my two cents:
1. Look for skirts that hit right above the knee. Exposing your knees will elongate your legs especially if you pair it with nude pumps.
2. If you fall in love with a skirt that hits at the calves, look for wrap skirts with a slit. This will allow your legs to peek through, which also creates an illusion of longer legs.
3. Having the skirt be high waisted also makes you appear thinner. As Stacy London would say, "You must always define the waistline."
